Privacy Policy

Plainice LLC (“Plainice,” “we,” “us”) operates Chore Chart at chores.plainice.com and the Chore Chart Android app (the “Service”). This policy explains what information we collect and how we use it.
Information we collect
- Account information. When a parent signs up, we collect an email address and display name through Firebase Authentication (Google, Apple, email link, or anonymous guest session).
- Family configuration. Kids’ names or nicknames, chore lists, icons, shared zones, star/check-off state, and similar settings you enter so the chart works for your household.
- Technical data. Standard server logs such as IP address, browser or app user agent, and timestamps when you use the Service.
How we use information
We use this information to:
- Provide and sync your family’s chore chart across devices
- Authenticate parents and keep accounts secure
- Improve reliability and fix bugs
- Communicate about the Service when needed (for example, sign-in links or important account notices)
We do not sell personal information. We do not show third-party ads in the Service.
Children’s privacy
Chore Chart is designed for families. Parent accounts are for adults. Kids interact with the chart using shared-device PINs and nicknames you configure; we do not require children under 13 to create their own email accounts. If you believe a child has provided personal information inappropriately, contact us and we will delete it.
Service providers
We use trusted processors to run the Service, including hosting and Firebase Authentication (Google). They process data only to provide those services for us and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes beyond that role.
Data retention and deletion
We keep account and family data while your account is active. To delete your account and associated family data, follow the steps on our Delete account & data page (or email support@plainice.com from the address on the account). We will delete or anonymize the data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain limited records for legal or security reasons.
Security
We use commercially reasonable safeguards to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the Service after changes means you accept the updated policy.
